I'm Trisha, a fashion brand consultant and career coach with 15 years of experience in the industry. As a consultant, I help designers and brand owners launch bestselling fashion brands from scratch.       <image:caption>Want to know the secret to bestselling brands and sell-out launches? ‍♀️ It doesn’t start with design features or price points. ‍♀️ It doesn’t start with product photography or sales copy. ‍♀️ It doesn’t just come down to the hype you create around your launch. It starts with having a COMPLETE understanding of your customer… You know, the people deciding whether or not to buy from you! Which means knowing - The exact pain points they have {and how you fix them with your products} The exact feeling they aspire to {and how your product can help create that} The struggles they are facing {and how your product is the perfect solution} Here’s something I tell all my clients, irrespective of how big or small their brand is: You aren’t selling a product. You’re selling a SOLUTION to something in someone’s life. Or in fashion terms, you aren't selling clothes or accessories. You’re selling confidence, comfort, convenience, fun, individuality and so much more  Behind every purchase is an underlying emotion - customers want to feel (or avoid feeling) a particular way when they buy/wear a new dress or pair of trainers. Your job as a brand is to work out what that emotion is and then create a product &amp; marketing strategy that delivers that exact feeling. If you don’t know what that emotion is, try this - ⚡️Ask your potential customers what they struggle with when they shop. ⚡️Try and work out how they want to FEEL when they wear a new piece of clothing or an accessory. ⚡️Then focus on the benefits your product provides and position your brand for PEOPLE. The marketing, the branding, the price, the launch… they’re important but they all come AFTER. Magic happens when you stop trying to make things that ‘sell’ and connect every aspect of your brand - from the product to your social media strategy - to the emotion and desires of the real-life person on the other side of the screen.       <image:caption>Worried about slow sales in your fashion brand? ‍♀️ You’re not the only one. I’ve spoken to so many brands who have seen a huge dip in their sales over the past few weeks and I’m here to tell you that’s completely normal for 2 reasons - 1. There are seasonal shifts in every fashion business and Q3 is ALWAYS the toughest. 2. Sunny weather + lockdown easing = slow sales. The good news is, there are lots of things you CAN do to boost your sales, and make them more consistent. First, stop stressing. Running your own brand takes a lot of resilience and focus and what matters most when sales are slow (or non-existent) is your attitude. You can’t do what’s best for your business if you aren’t feeling your best. Next, take a step back and look at what the data you have about your business and your customers tells you. What’s working and what isn’t? Is there something you can do NOW to drive sales and free up cash flow? Emails, pop-ups and flash sales are all good options as long as you don’t make a habit of deep discounting and keep your incentives time bound. Finally, keep showing up and use this time to learn more about how sales work in YOUR business and make practical moves that will pay off in the long run.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Think of your online fashion brand as a brick-and-mortar shop for a moment. For people to buy from you, they need to get into the store! For a physical shop, that means opening the doors and letting them in. But for an online brand, it means using your social media so people can have a look around! Online or offline, there are 2 types of potential customers. First, the lurkers  Lurkers are like the window shoppers in a physical store. They come in, look around, but don’t chat or ask questions. They just want to get a feel for you and your products and when they’re ready, they’ll come to their buying decision on their own. On social media, these are the people who look at your content but don’t comment. They might hit ‘like’ or 'save', but most of the times, you don't even know they exist. But that doesn’t mean they’re never going to buy. They just need to have the doors flung open so they can look around at their own pace. The second type of interaction comes from the fans  In a physical store, these are the people who go straight to the salesperson to ask about a product. They know what they want and they’re ready to buy it. Online, these are the people who consistently engage with your content, share it, send you DMs and so on. Your profile will attract both types of people, and that’s precisely what you want! Because here’s the thing, most fans start off as lurkers And if you don’t leave the door open for them, you lose sales. That’s why it's so important your content addresses people at every stage of the buyer’s journey. And why you need to create content that meets your customers where they are at. Even when it feels like you’re shouting into a void. The more opportunities you create for people to take a peek around your business, the more consistently you’ll convert lurkers into fans and generate sales, irrespective of your engagement rate.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Worried about slow sales in your fashion brand? ‍♀️ You’re not the only one. I’ve spoken to so many brands who have seen a huge dip in their sales over the past few weeks and I’m here to tell you that’s completely normal for 2 reasons - 1. There are seasonal shifts in every fashion business and Q3 is ALWAYS the toughest. 2. Sunny weather + lockdown easing = slow sales. The good news is, there are lots of things you CAN do to boost your sales, and make them more consistent. First, stop stressing. Running your own brand takes a lot of resilience and focus and what matters most when sales are slow (or non-existent) is your attitude. You can’t do what’s best for your business if you aren’t feeling your best. Next, take a step back and look at what the data you have about your business and your customers tells you. What’s working and what isn’t? Is there something you can do NOW to drive sales and free up cash flow? Emails, pop-ups and flash sales are all good options as long as you don’t make a habit of deep discounting and keep your incentives time bound. Finally, keep showing up and use this time to learn more about how sales work in YOUR business and make practical moves that will pay off in the long run.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Think of your online fashion brand as a brick-and-mortar shop for a moment. For people to buy from you, they need to get into the store! For a physical shop, that means opening the doors and letting them in. But for an online brand, it means using your social media so people can have a look around! Online or offline, there are 2 types of potential customers. First, the lurkers  Lurkers are like the window shoppers in a physical store. They come in, look around, but don’t chat or ask questions. They just want to get a feel for you and your products and when they’re ready, they’ll come to their buying decision on their own. On social media, these are the people who look at your content but don’t comment. They might hit ‘like’ or 'save', but most of the times, you don't even know they exist. But that doesn’t mean they’re never going to buy. They just need to have the doors flung open so they can look around at their own pace. The second type of interaction comes from the fans  In a physical store, these are the people who go straight to the salesperson to ask about a product. They know what they want and they’re ready to buy it. Online, these are the people who consistently engage with your content, share it, send you DMs and so on. Your profile will attract both types of people, and that’s precisely what you want! Because here’s the thing, most fans start off as lurkers And if you don’t leave the door open for them, you lose sales. That’s why it's so important your content addresses people at every stage of the buyer’s journey. And why you need to create content that meets your customers where they are at. Even when it feels like you’re shouting into a void. The more opportunities you create for people to take a peek around your business, the more consistently you’ll convert lurkers into fans and generate sales, irrespective of your engagement rate.</image:caption>
